After some calls from my elder brother, asking me to meet his first and new born child, I decided to go and book a Eurostar ticket to Paris. The destination was not Paris but Tours, where my mother lives and where my brother and his family were staying.
Paris, it's funny how much you can love and hate that city all at the same time. Love and Hate, that's Paris for me. You could wander around and admire the harmonic way buildings are built and distributed, monuments, museums, ... and at the same time worry about what could happen to you in the "Metro".
There is that thing called "Heure pointe" (Peak hour), this is when everyone stops their jobs, and decide to all "meet" at the "Metro", usually around 5pm. One could try to guess the anti-transpirant used in the morning with some mixture of sweat, perhaps, if lucky, some fresh perfume, and this unique smell coming from each traveller. Tout un plaisir, or, as Les Inconnus (French comedians) said, "Parfum Eau de La Seinoise".
Anyway, lucky me, I managed to arrive before 4pm! YAY! I called my elder brother and they were delighted to know I would be earlier than expected. I took my TGV at Paris Montparnasse and arrived to Tours in time to enjoy a cold beer in the garden.
A few minutes later, my brother asked me to go upstairs and meet his wife and the nephew, and so I did. I entered in that small room and I saw him, tiny, fragile, beautiful. Many emotions came to mind, apart of fearing (which happened) to hold him in my arms..., I felt amused, it was like meeting a tiny version of my brother. Thomas Erwan is his name, a very cool name if you ask me!!!
This was a great experience, again, I am uncle, and this time? of a baby boy! I need to think about what kind of naughty advises I will teach him... anyway, I can't wait to see him grow as for my nieces!
