A weekend alone with Nacho

I am still in Tours, France. My mother and Martial had to spend the weekend in La Rochelle to check the state of the house and sailing boat. I stayed behind at their house with Nacho.

The weather was great really, we had 29C and cold winds. This allowed me to follow the steps of these germans in the spanish coasts, acting a bit like prawns being roasted on a pan. So there I was, roasting, on the grass, and it felt quite good! this was the first time in years I haven't had any sun bath. I guess I will do it again and stop calling our friend germans, prawns. (no, Eric, not "fokin' prawns!! - District 9").

Last night we watched some episodes of Saint Seiya - The lost canvas. It is a manga about the Knights of Zodiac but happening during the 18th century. Very nice story and animation, quite entertaining.

Now, being Sunday, and the weekend coming to an end... we must clean and tidy! that's the downside of the small quiet two days we had of no parental presence... Anyway, sun bath helped to relax even more! I don't regret the trip so far.

The story of ultra-sounds or how to mix two nieces and a baby boy

The title might sound a bit harsh, but if you had two lovely girls aged of three and two years old, mixed with a five weeks old baby boy... you would understand the term "ultra-sounds".

Time passing, weekend approaching... Juan, myself... but where is Maria? how could would it be to be again the three together again after a bit more than two years? the decision was easy, let's call her! and so we did, Maria agreed on coming with her two little daughters Alba and Elyne (three and two years old respectively) and spend the weekend with us in Tours.

Fun fun!

I have to say, this has been one of the best weekends I have ever experienced. Not just in terms of family gatherings but also in terms of quality of life, jokes, discussions, very relaxing. Just imagine a very nice garden with overgrown roses, cherry trees, and having breakfast there, outside, under the shade of a huge umbrella with about twenty-five degrees celsius. Pure perfection in my book.

Alba - three years old niece.
Anyway, this made me very happy. Now that they have all left to their own homes and I have stayed with my parents here in Tours, I shall focus on my job hunt (that is, my friend, a whole other story).

Until then, ...

France, I finally met my nephew - first post too...

After some calls from my elder brother, asking me to meet his first and new born child, I decided to go and book a Eurostar ticket to Paris. The destination was not Paris but Tours, where my mother lives and where my brother and his family were staying.

Paris, it's funny how much you can love and hate that city all at the same time. Love and Hate, that's Paris for me. You could wander around and admire the harmonic way buildings are built and distributed, monuments, museums, ... and at the same time worry about what could happen to you in the "Metro".

There is that thing called "Heure pointe" (Peak hour), this is when everyone stops their jobs, and decide to all "meet" at the "Metro", usually around 5pm. One could try to guess the anti-transpirant used in the morning with some mixture of sweat, perhaps, if lucky, some fresh perfume, and this unique smell coming from each traveller. Tout un plaisir, or, as Les Inconnus (French comedians) said, "Parfum Eau de La Seinoise".

Anyway, lucky me, I managed to arrive before 4pm! YAY! I called my elder brother and they were delighted to know I would be earlier than expected. I took my TGV at Paris Montparnasse and arrived to Tours in time to enjoy a cold beer in the garden.

A few minutes later, my brother asked me to go upstairs and meet his wife and the nephew, and so I did. I entered in that small room and I saw him, tiny, fragile, beautiful. Many emotions came to mind, apart of fearing (which happened) to hold him in my arms..., I felt amused, it was like meeting a tiny version of my brother. Thomas Erwan is his name, a very cool name if you ask me!!!

This was a great experience, again, I am uncle, and this time? of a baby boy! I need to think about what kind of naughty advises I will teach him... anyway, I can't wait to see him grow as for my nieces!
